Termination and confluence by rule prioritization
IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2003An active database system is a DBMS endowed with active rules, i.e., stored procedures activated by the system when specific events occur. The processing of active rules is characterized by two important properties: termination and confluence. A Modified Termination Rule for Karmarkar’s Algorithm
Journal of Information and Optimization Sciences, 1995Abstract In this note we have proposed a modified termination rule for Karmarkar’s algorithm for linear programming. It enables the algorithm to save a large number of iterations (about 80 percent) and ensure its early termination compared to that of Karmarkar.
