Polyethism in the australian harvester TermiteDrepanotermes (Isoptera, Termitinae)

Insectes Sociaux, 1978
Species ofDrepanotermes show instar-dependent behavioural differences in the worker caste in both nest repair and foraging activity. Immediately following damage to the nest, the frequencies of W1, W2 and W3 at the damaged site decreased, while those of W4+W5 and soldiers increased in bothD. rubriceps andD. perniger.

Chemical systematics of Neotropical termite genera with symmetrically snapping soldiers (Termitidae: Termitinae)

open access: yesZoological Journal of the Linnean Society, 2016
Termite soldiers often combine mechanical adaptations with defensive chemicals secreted from the frontal gland. Amongst the most remarkable strategies for mechanical defence, symmetrical and asymmetrical snapping mandibles evolved in several lineages of the diversified subfamily Termitinae (Termitidae).

Redescription and reclassification of the African termite, Forficulitermes planifrons (Isoptera, Termitidae, Termitinae)

Zootaxa, 2015
Forficulitermes planifrons is a monotypic genus and species described by Emerson (1960) from three soldiers and a single worker. All known occurrences of Forficulitermes (Emerson 1960, Wango & Josens 2011, this study) originate from equatorial middle Africa.

Description of the imago of Neocapritermes utiariti (Isoptera: Termitidae: Termitinae)

Zootaxa, 2017
The neotropical termite genus Neocapritermes Holmgren (1912) was revised by Krishna & Araujo (1968), who recognized 14 valid species. Two additional species were described by Constantino (1991), and another one by Bandeira & Cancello (1992). However, the imago of most species of Neocapritermes remain unknown.

Redescription of the Monotypic Neotropical Genus Crepititermes Emerson (Termitidae: Termitinae)

Neotropical Entomology, 2015
Based on a reexamination of specimens of Crepititermes Emerson deposited in the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil (MZUSP), we characterize the morphology and coiling in situ of the digestive tube of workers of Crepititermes verruculosus Emerson for the first time.
