Magnesium-Rich Compounds and LPSO Phases for Hydrogen Storage: A Review

open access: yesMetals
This review provides an overview of magnesium-rich compounds and Long-Period Stacking Ordered (LPSO) phases for their hydrogen storage properties. Thanks to their high volumetric density, safety, and exceptional purity, metal hydrides are promising for ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Proximity Biosensor Assay for PROTAC Ternary Complex Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
Ternary complexes, consisting of two proteins connected by small molecules like PROTACs or molecular glues pose new challenges for the analysis of molecular interactions, because they depend not only on binary affinities, but are orchestrated by ...

Synthesis of Fully Dense Monoclinic Zirconia Ceramics via Ternary Sintering Aids

open access: yesCeramics
Fully dense monoclinic zirconia ceramics were successfully fabricated by pressureless sintering and/or HIP. Although monoclinic zirconia exhibits unique physicochemical properties, fabrication of fully dense polycrystalline bodies has remained ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Ternary Logic Design Based on Novel Tunneling-Drift-Diffusion Field-Effect Transistors

open access: yesNanomaterials
In this paper, a novel Tunneling-Drift-Diffusion Field-Effect Transistor (TDDFET) based on the combination of the quantum tunneling and conventional drift-diffusion mechanisms is proposed for the design of ternary logic circuits. The working principle of

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Self‐Catalyzed AlGaAs Nanowires and AlGaAs/GaAs Axial Heterostructures Grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
Self‐catalyzed AlGaAs nanowires (NWs) offer advantageous properties, including lattice matching to GaAs, a wide range of electronic bandgaps, and monolithic integration with the mature Si platform due to elastic strain relaxation.
