Influence of crosslinker on the properties of terpene‐based poly(high internal phase emulsion)s

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Myrcene was polymerized and crosslinked with hydrophilic monomeric and oligomeric dimethacrylates within high internal phase emulsions to produce hierarchically porous bio‐based poly(high internal phase emulsion)s with tuned morphology and mechanical properties.

Robust β‐myrcene block copolymer elastomeric vitrimers

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Myrcene‐based vitrimeric elastomers were compared: statistical (poly(styrene‐stat‐myrcene‐stat‐AAEMA)] versus ‘hard–soft’ diblock (poly(styrene)‐block‐poly(myrcene‐co‐AAEMA)). The diblock's ability to anchor the glassy poly(styrene) blocks in a self‐assembled microstructure was effective – leading to four times higher tensile stress and ten times ...

Kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
The process of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene in hydrocarbon solvents was examined by kinetic studies and quantum chemical calculations. Abstract The kinetics of anionic polymerization of β‐myrcene initiated by sec‐butyllithium were examined in saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon solvents, i.e. cyclohexane, cyclohexene, 4‐vinylcyclohexene and dl‐

Chemically Recyclable, Hydroxycinnamic Acid‐Derived Semi‐Aromatic Polycarbonates

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polycarbonate polymers find widespread use for a variety of applications. Driven by the need to transition away from fossil‐based resources, there is increasing interest in exploring bio‐based monomers for the synthesis of polycarbonates. One interesting class of molecules that can be isolated from a variety of biological resources, including ...
