Product Profiles of Promiscuous Enzymes Can be Altered by Controlling In Vivo Spatial Organization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Enzyme spatial organization is an evolved mechanism for facilitating multi‐step biocatalysis and can play an important role in the regulation of promiscuous enzymes.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

A terpenoid and two steroids from the flowers of Mammea siamensis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Two steroids, β-sitosterol and stigmasterol (of their mixture in an approximate ratio 1:1) and a terpenoid, friedelin, were isolated from a chloroform extract of Mammea siamensis flowers by means of chromatographic techniques.

Synthesis of Indole Terpenoid Mimics through a Functionality-Tolerated Eu(fod)(3)-Catalyzed Conjugate Addition

open access: yes, 2015
The chemical synthesis of indole terpenoids of structural and biological interests has attracted remarkable attention. Here we report an Eu(fod)(3)-catalyzed indole conjugate addition reaction, which tolerates various acid-sensitive functional groups.

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Qualitative Profiling, Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Polar and Nonpolar Basil Extracts

open access: yesFoods
Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) is a widely used culinary herb. In this study, ethanol, dichloromethane, and sunflower oil were used separately as solvents with distinct polarities for the extraction of basil aerial parts to simulate the different polarity ...

Callus formation and camphor aggregation in response to sorbitol stimulated osmotic stress in yarrow

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2023
Sorbitol is an important source of abiotic stress that is used to increase osmolality in cell cultures. It increases the antioxidant enzymes of defense catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the stress state of cells ...
