Tertiary-Quaternary intra-plate magmatism in Europe and its relationship to mantle dynamics

open access: yes, 2006
Anorogenic intra-plate magmatism was widespread in Europe from early Tertiary to Recent times, extending west to east from Spain to Bulgaria, and south to north from Sicily to northern Germany. Magmatism is spatially and temporally associated with Alpine-

MPC-based tertiary and secondary optimal control in islanded microgrids

open access: yes, 2015
Microgrids that are able to work both in grid-connected and islanded modes need a hierarchical structure based on tertiary, secondary and primary controllers, which are fundamental for the maintenance of frequency and stability.

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

INTERNAL AUDIT QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF PUBLIC TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN OSUN STATE, NIGERIA

open access: yesMalete Journal of Accounting and Finance, 2023
Despite the presence of internal audit mechanism in most public tertiary institutions, evidence has shown that most of them have experienced audit failure in recent years with consequential effect on the effectiveness and efficiency in quality of ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Aseptic technique training and infection-risk reduction practices among healthcare workers

open access: yesDiversity
Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) remain a persistent burden in resource-limited health systems, yet evidence on structured, sustained aseptic technique education for healthcare workers (HCWs) in Nigerian tertiary hospitals is still limited.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.
