The role of thermal energy storage in industrial energy conservation [PDF]
Thermal Energy Storage for Industrial Applications is a major thrust of the Department of Energy's Thermal Energy Storage Program. Utilizing Thermal Energy Storage (TES) with process or reject heat recovery systems is shown to be extremely beneficial ...

Long‐term monitoring has revealed hybridisation attempts between the Critically Endangered Kuaka Whenua Hou (KWH, Pelecanoides whenuahouensis) and the abundant Kuaka (P. urinatrix). Here we use modelling based on population monitoring data in tandem with genomic data to investigate these attempts and the risk they pose to KWH recovery.

The oscillatory response of the electroretinogram and neuronal adaptation
Abstract After more than 50 years, there still remains a challenge and an interest to know more as well as extend and deepen our understanding of the small rapid wavelets, the oscillatory potentials (OPs), of the electroretinogram (ERG) and the neuronal adaptation of the retina.

In patients with atherothrombotic disease on antithrombotic therapy, P‐CABs demonstrated a significantly superior protective effect against clinically significant upper GI haemorrhage compared to PPIs (aHR 0.22; p = 0.016). This real‐world study highlights P‐CABs as a more potent gastroprotective strategy for high‐risk populations requiring intensive ...

Amyloid‐β aggregates induce vasculopathy via ferroptosis in brain endothelial cells
Blood–brain barrier (BBB) disruption is evident in brains with amyloidopathy. In this study, we demonstrate that amyloid β (Aβ) drives abnormal lipid metabolism and lipid droplet formation in brain endothelial cells, leading to lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Intrinsic specificity of a ‘core’ TIP60 acetyltransferase complex in Drosophila
The intrinsic substrate selectivity of the Drosophila TIP60‐core acetyltransferase was determined using synthetic nucleosome arrays. Targeted mass spectrometry revealed site‐specific acetylation of histones H2A, H2A.V, and H4, uncovering distinct acetylation rates and patterns across individual lysines.
