Specialty‐Based Disparities in Biologic Use and Retention in Psoriatic Arthritis: A Nationwide Korean Claims Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rheumatic Diseases, Volume 29, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Biologic agents play a pivotal role in controlling both articular and cutaneous manifestations of psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Although international guidelines emphasize the appropriate use of biologics, Korea lacks standardized treatment protocols tailored for PsA across specialties.

Humanin Mitigates Aβ‐Induced Retinal Pigment Epithelium Injury via AMPK‐Beclin1‐Dependent Mitophagy

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Humanin (HN) enhanced the clearance of Aβ‐accumulated mitochondria in the RPE while preserving retinal function and RPE barrier integrity. HN activated AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK), leading to phosphorylation of ULK1 and Beclin1, which promoted the interaction between Beclin1 and Parkin and their translocation to mitochondria.

Amyloid‐β aggregates induce vasculopathy via ferroptosis in brain endothelial cells

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 4, July 2026.
Blood–brain barrier (BBB) disruption is evident in brains with amyloidopathy. In this study, we demonstrate that amyloid β (Aβ) drives abnormal lipid metabolism and lipid droplet formation in brain endothelial cells, leading to lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.

Simulating Area‐Level Population Outcomes: Should We Use Multilevel Regression and Poststratification Over Spatial Microsimulation?

open access: yesGeographical Analysis, Volume 58, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Estimating unknown outcomes at small‐area population level is a routine task in spatial analysis. We demonstrate how multilevel regression and poststratification (MRP), widely used in political polling, overcomes some deficiencies in spatial microsimulation (SPM), the de facto approach in quantitative geography.
