Genotoxicity assessment of piperitenone oxide: an in vitro and in silico evaluation [PDF]
Piperitenone oxide, a natural flavouring agent also known as rotundifolone, has been studied for the genotoxicity assessment by an integrated in vitro and in silico experimental approach, including the bacterial reverse mutation assay, the micronucleus ...

Detection and toxicity evaluation of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in medicinal plants Gynura bicolor and Gynura divaricata collected from different Chinese locations [PDF]
Two edible plants in Southeast Asia, Gynura bicolor and G.divaricata, are not only known to be nutritive but also useful as medicinal herbs. Previous phytochemical investigation of Gynura species showed the presence of hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

A humán genotoxicitás kutatásának és kimutatásának korszerűsítése = Study of human genotoxicity: An Update and practical considerations [PDF]
A mutagének metabolikus aktiválására S9 frakciót használnak az Ames tesztben. Ez lehetővé teszi a fázis I enzimek katalizálta metabolikus folyamatok vizsgálatát, de figyelmen kívül hagyja a fázis II enzimek szerepét, ami hamis negatív vagy pozitív ...
