Sperm functional tests

Fertility and Sterility, 2014
Several semen parameters are used to discriminate the fertile male from the subfertile male. Testing otolith function

British Journal of Audiology, 1992
Otolithic signals contribute to; (1) perception of orientation and linear motion, (2) generate compensatory eye movements in response to linear acceleration of the head and (3) participate in the co-ordination of movement and balance. Tests of these functions shown to be useful in identifying clinical disorders have been reviewed: (1) Evaluation of ...

Visual Function Tests

2022
Inherited retinal diseases (IRDs), including retinitis pigmentosa, have devastating consequences for the visual function of affected individuals. Chief among these are a gradual loss of visual field, visual acuity, and night vision (otherwise known as nyctalopia). These changes often occur slowly, over a course of decades.

Pulmonary Function Tests

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 1988
The clinical significance of pulmonary function tests (including blood gas analysis) lies in their sensitivity for detecting PCP. PCP has most consistently been found to cause abnormalities in the DLCO and the exercise arterial blood gas; both are highly sensitive for the presence of Pneumocystis infection.

Endothelial function testing

2006
It has been shown that the presence of well-preserved brachial artery vasoreactivity predicts the absence of coronary artery disease. The recent findings that coronary endothelial dysfunction is associated with an increased risk of stroke or transient ischemic attack in middle-aged patients without coronary artery disease support the concept that ...
