Medical Fabrics with Non‐Antibiotic, Supramolecular Antimicrobial Coatings: A Preventive Approach to Combat Biofilm Formation and Bacterial Dissemination

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents an antibiotic‐free strategy using medical fabrics coated with supramolecular assemblies of polyarginine and hyaluronic acid. These coatings showed strong antimicrobial and anti‐biofilm activity in vitro and in vivo, achieving major bacterial load reductions, including against MRSA.

Engineered Microfluidic Organoid Systems: New Paradigms for Menopause Mechanism Research and Personalized Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review explores the integration of microfluidic technology with organoid systems as an innovative platform for studying menopausea complex multi‐organ condition. By enabling precise simulation of inter‐organ communication and hormone responses, microfluidic organoids offer a physiologically relevant model for investigating menopausal syndrome and ...

Chronic Hypoxia Disrupts Spermatogenesis Through ASXL2–EZH2–Mediated Microtubule Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the mechanism by which chronic hypoxia impairs spermatogenesis via the ASXL2–EZH2 axis, hindering the transition of spermatids from round to elongated forms. Key findings reveal that under hypoxic conditions, downregulated ASXL2 expression reduces EZH2 binding to the CEP162 promoter, leading to decreased H3K27me3 modification and ...

Analysis of OCT4 and PGP9.5 gene expression in prenatal and postnatal buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) testes

open access: yesAnimal Biotechnology
This study aimed to investigate and characterize the spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) in buffaloes at different stages of development, including prenatal, neonatal, prepubertal, and adult testes.

Thermal Plasticity is Regulated by a Key MicroRNA During Range Expansion of an Invasive Fruit Fly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Populations at the invasion front of Bactrocera dorsalis adapt through reduced phenotypic and gene expression plasticity, a phenomenon likely to be driven by genetic assimilation. We identify a key miRNA‐mediated regulatory axis, in which miR‐276b post‐transcriptionally represses thw, a conserved chitin‐binding gene critical to the cold‐tolerance ...

The effect of oxidized dextran on the morphology of Wistar rat testes under acute toxic effects

open access: yesСибирский научный медицинский журнал
The study of the viability of the spermatogenic epithelium in case of toxic lesions and their correction in experiment is a key factor for understanding the possibilities of restoring reproductive function in conditions of increasing technogenic ...

Testicular mRNA‐LNP Delivery: A Novel Therapy for Genetic Spermatogenic Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the current study, we developed a novel therapy for genetic spermatogenic disorders. It was revealed that in vivo delivery of mRNA LNP3 could restore spermatogenesis in Msh5D486Y/D486Y and Maps KO mouse models with meiotic arrest. Notably, the offspring without genomic integration was born using ICSI derived from the rescue of Msh5D486Y/D486Y mouse ...

Age-Dependent Expression of Humanin in the Bull (Bos Taurus) Testis and Its Potential Role in Regulating Hormonal Status, Oxidative Stress and MicroRNA Expression

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine
Humanin (HN), a mitochondrial-derived peptide with cytoprotective functions, has not been thoroughly investigated in the bull gonad. This study characterized the developmental localization of HN in the bull testis and its relationship with hormonal ...
