Primary testicular plasmacytoma with hydrocele of the testis

Abstract A case of primary testicular plasmacytoma complicated with hydrocele of the testis is reported. An 86‐year‐old man presented with hydrocele of the right testis. High inguinal orchiectomy was performed as the preoperative aspiration cytology of the hydrocele fluid showed atypical cells.

Hydrocele and Epididymitis Mimicking Testicular Torsion on Scrotal Scintigraphy

Because interruption of blood flow to the testicle for even a few hours can result in the loss of the spermatogenic capacity of this organ, testicular torsion is considered a surgical emergency. Scrotal scintigraphy is a well-established, readily available, highly accurate technique for evaluating individuals with scrotal pain.

Hydrocele formation after sandwich irradiation therapy for testicular tumor

Contralateral hydrocele formation secondary to irradiation, radical retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy, or both, in the treatment of tumor of the testis has, to our knowledge, never before been reported. Our experience with 8 patients in whom hydrocele occurred after the combined modalities of therapy prompted this report.

Results of Fibrin Glue Application Therapy in Testicular Hydrocele

Nine patients, mean age 55 years, with testicular hydroceles, were treated by aspiration and two-component fibrin glue injection. One patient was treated twice. The glue contains 70-110 mg fibrinogen and 500 IU human thrombin in 0.5- and 2-ml injections, respectively (Tisseel duo quick, Immune AB).

Hydrocele Mimicking Testicular Torsion on Radionuclide and Ultrasound Studies

A 24-year-old man with a swollen right testis was noted, by ultrasound (US), to have a hydrocele on that side, and homogenous echogenicity. Clear demonstration of blood flow was not possible. A Tc-99m RBC radionuclide study also did not show perfusion of the right testis.

Giant unilateral abdominoscrotal hydrocele in association with crossed testicular ectopia

Abdominoscrotal hydrocele and transverse testis ectopia are rare clinical conditions. This case report describes the combination of these two rare entities. An azoospermic and infertile adult man presented with left abdominoscrotal hydrocele and a right impalpable testis.

[Testicular hydrocele: therapy with sclerosing solutions].

Twelve adult patients with acquired hydrocele of the testis were submitted to treatment with aspiration and injection of an acrine derivative (quinacrine) guided by ultrasonography. A 12 month follow up of all patients showed good results were achieved by sclerotherapy with quinacrine.
