Top‐Down Proteomics Study of Aging and Sexual Dimorphism of Zebrafish Brains

open access: yesJournal of Mass Spectrometry, Volume 61, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aging significantly impacts brain function and increases susceptibility to neurodegenerative diseases, with notable sex dimorphism observed in aging‐related dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease. To better understand the molecular mechanisms of aging and dementia, it is essential to globally and accurately characterize biomolecules (e.g ...

Genotype–Phenotype Correlations in Klinefelter and Turner Syndrome: A Decade of Sex Chromosome Aneuploidy Data From a Single Academic Medical Center

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
To understand the relationship between genotype and phenotype in sex chromosome aneuploidies, retrospective cytogenetic and clinical data was collected for Klinefelter Syndrome (n = 57) and Turner Syndrome (n = 92) cases from a single academic medical center from 2013 to 2022. The cohorts were divided into subcategories based on the genotype.

Identification and Functional Characterization of a Novel SEMA3A Exon Deletion Variant in Kallmann Syndrome

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
The study identified a novel SEMA3A exons 6–9 deletion variant in Kallmann syndrome that impairs GnRH neuronal migration and alters cell migration, gonad development, and synaptic pathways. The study expands mutation spectrum and offers mechanistic insights for clinical diagnosis of Kallmann syndrome.

Surgical Fertility Preservation Can Be Safely Performed Without Delaying Treatment for Children With Severe Aplastic Anemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Pediatric patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA) who undergo hematopoietic cell transplantation are at significantly increased risk of infertility. Pretransplant fertility preservation (FP) options for prepubertal children are surgical procedures: ovarian or testicular tissue cryopreservation (OTC and TTC). Bleeding and infection risk must

Total Testosterone Measured by Liquid Chromatograph‐Tandem Mass Spectrometry Refines Diagnosis of Biochemical Hyperandrogenism and Better Identifies Subgroup at Genuine Risk of Adverse Fertility Outcomes in Women With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology, Volume 25, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To compare total testosterone (TT) measured by liquid chromatograph‐tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) with electro‐chemiluminescent immunoassay (ECLIA) in the diagnosis and management of infertile women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods Baseline TT was measured by LC–MS/MS and ECLIA in 906 infertile women with PCOS.

Attending to Gyn‐Ecology: Managing the ‘Mess’ of Recurrent Vulvovaginal Thrush

open access: yesSociology of Health &Illness, Volume 48, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Previous social science research on gendered experiences of thrush and vulvovaginal health has overlooked, or inadvertently sanitised, the materiality of having a body. Therefore, this study aims to return attention to the material, sensorial, and corporeal dimensions of living with recurrent thrush and use this to broaden our understandings ...
