The Efficacy of Spirulina on Cognitive Function, Psychological and Clinical Indicators in Men Patients Under Methadone Therapy (a Randomized Trial)

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
In male patients receiving methadone maintenance therapy (MMT), Spirulina tablet (500 mg twice daily) for 12 weeks significantly reduced anxiety and stress score compared to the placebo group. However, no significant effects were observed for the depression, sexual function, craving, and cognitive performance measures between the two groups.

Acute Intermittent Hypoxia Exerts Beneficial Effects and Promotes Repair in Male Mice in the Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis Model of Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 2, February 2026.
Acute intermittent hypoxia is a novel, noninvasive therapy that shows promising and similar beneficial repair and remyelination following demyelination in male experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, as was previously shown in female mice. ABSTRACT Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects women more frequently than men, but the disease progresses more ...

Arrhythmic expression signatures of circadian clock‐associated transcription factors and chronic circadian disruption contribute to advanced prostate cancer growth

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 3, Page 775-789, 1 February 2026.
What's new? Circadian rhythm disruption potentially fuels prostate cancer progression. The mechanisms and signaling molecules contributing to hormonal tumorigenesis, however, remain largely undefined. In this study, circadian expression patterns of core‐circadian controlled genes (CCCGs) and nuclear receptors (NRs) were investigated in advanced ...

Neuro‐Immune Crosstalk: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Neurons, immune cells, and other cellular components within the disease microenvironment (such as stromal cells and tumor cells) constitute a dynamically evolving ecosystem. Neurons directly modulate immune cell activity and inflammatory responses through the release of neurotransmitters (e.g., norepinephrine and CGRP), while also promoting tumor ...
