Antimicrobial prescribing guidelines for horses in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, Volume 103, Issue 12, Page 781-889, December 2025.
The growing problem of antimicrobial resistance also affects equine veterinarians with increasing frequency. Antimicrobial stewardship and responsible prescribing are essential for a future in which effective antimicrobials are available, as it is unlikely that new antimicrobials will become available for use in horses.

Tetanus antitoxin titration by haemagglutination [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hygiene, 1957
The behaviour of sheep cells sensitized with tetanus toxins and toxoids in the presence of antitoxin has been investigated.Sensitized sheep cells were agglutinated in the presence of tetanus antitoxin. The agglutinin titres of such direct agglutinin systems were roughly proportional to the antitoxin content of the sera with some marked exceptions.

Determination of low tetanus or diphtheria antitoxin titers in sera by a toxin neutralization assay and a modified toxin-binding inhibition test

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2007
A method for the screening of tetanus and diphtheria antibodies in serum using anatoxin (inactivated toxin) instead of toxin was developed as an alternative to the in vivo toxin neutralization assay based on the toxin-binding inhibition test (TOBI test).
