Maternal Tetanus Toxoid Vaccination in Benin: Evidence from the Demographic and Health Survey [PDF]

open access: yesVaccines, 2022
Tetanus toxoid vaccination is critical for improving maternal and child health. Yet, the prevalence and correlates of maternal tetanus toxoid vaccination coverage remain largely underexplored in Benin where infant and child mortality rates are high ...

Listeria delivers tetanus toxoid protein to pancreatic tumors and induces cancer cell death in mice. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Transl Med, 2022

Individual and community-level determinants of poor tetanus toxoid immunization among pregnant women in Ethiopia using data from 2016 Ethiopian demographic and health survey; multilevel analysis

open access: yesArchives of Public Health, 2021
Background Tetanus is a vaccine-preventable disease that can occur in all populations, with neonates and pregnant women being at the most risk. Ethiopia has the highest maternal and neonatal tetanus morbidity and mortality rates.

Spatial distribution and determinants of tetanus toxoid immunization among pregnant women in Ethiopia using data from Ethiopian demographic and health survey 2016 [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2023
Introduction Tetanus is a major public health problem caused by clostridium tetani. Although it is vaccine-preventable, the case fatality rate among neonates in areas with poor immunization coverage and limited access to clean deliveries reaches 80-100%.

Spatial distribution and associated factors of poor tetanus toxoid immunization among pregnant women in Ethiopia: spatial and multilevel analysis [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Global Women's Health, 2023
BackgroundNeonatal mortality from tetanus can be reduced by 94% when pregnant women receive at least two doses of tetanus toxoid. In Ethiopia, immunization programs are suboptimal despite their importance.

Tetanus Toxoid Vaccination Coverage and Associated Factors among Childbearing Women in Ethiopia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesBiomed Res Int, 2021
Background Tetanus is a bacterial disease caused by the Clostridium tetani, which is a highly fatal, noncommunicable, and toxin-mediated disease. Globally, maternal and neonatal tetanus is a public health problem due to low maternal tetanus toxoid ...

Reactions to tetanus toxoid [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Hygiene, 1973
SUMMARYIn a factory population the occurrence of reactions to tetanus toxoid was recorded after 6740 injections. The incidence of general reactions was 0·3 % and of local reactions 2·6%. The local reaction rate to the first injection of the basic immunization course was 0·9%, to the second injection 2·7%, and to the third injection 7·4%.

Effect of Preexisting Immunity to Tetanus Toxoid on the Efficacy of Tetanus Toxoid-Conjugated Heroin Vaccine in Mice [PDF]

open access: yesVaccines, 2021
Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a serious health problem that has dramatically increased over the last decade. Although current therapies for the management of OUD can be effective, they have limitations.

The role of timely initiation of antenatal care on protective dose tetanus toxoid immunization: the case of northern Ethiopia post natal mothers

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2018
Background Globally, tetanus toxoid protective dose immunization of the mothers is one of the strategies of maternal and neonatal tetanus prevention. Ethiopia has planned the national tetanus protection at birth coverage to reach 86% by the year 2015 ...
