Anterior vertebral tethering: imaging of tether rupture
Pediatric Radiology, 2022Anterior vertebral tethering, also known as vertebral body tethering, is an evolving, minimally invasive surgical technique to correct spinal curvature in skeletally immature patients. The procedure involves placement of vertebral screws that are connected by an anterolateral tether.

Motion Estimation for Tethered Airfoils with Tether Sag
2020 IEEE International Conference on Multisensor Fusion and Integration for Intelligent Systems (MFI), 2020In this contribution a motion estimation approach for the autonomous flight of tethered airfoils is presented. Accurate motion data are essential for the airborne wind energy sector to optimize the harvested wind energy and for the manufacturer of tethered airfoils to optimize the kite design based on measurement data. We propose an estimation based on

The tethered conus is a real and treatable entity. It presents with a variable though fairly constant symptom complex. The diagnosis is probably not even considered in many patients with this condition. Recognition of the possibility of this condition by both the clinician and radiologist is needed. Properly performed oil or air myelography is the only

Ion channel complexes are challenging to study by traditional biochemical methods due to their membranous lipid environment and large size. Bioreactive tethers are specialized chemical probes that have been used in electrophysiological experiments to provide unique insight into ion channel structure and function.

Phospholipid bilayer membranes at the interface between a substrate and an aqueous phase, supported by or tethered to the solid surface via a polymer cushion, a peptide-, protein-, or oligosaccharide-coupling layer have reached a stage at which they are important as a novel model membrane system but also offer potential for practical applications (e.g.

Stapled peptides have received widespread attention in therapeutics due to the superior membrane penetration and in vivo stability. We have developed a series of methods including CIH, TD coupling, Met-Met, and Cys-Met bis-alkylation strategy to switch peptides' secondary structure and enhance their stability and cellular uptake.

An Efficient Model of Tethers for Tethered Satellite Systems
Advances in Astronautics Science and Technology, 2018This paper concerns about modeling of tethered satellites systems (TSS). In this paper, tethers of TSS are modeled as chains of elastic rods connected by rigid joints. A group of spatial vectors are used to describe displacement, orientation and deformation of the rods, which can avoid the coupling of trigonometric functions of Euler angles.
