High resolution remote sensing missions of a tethered satellite [PDF]

open access: yes
The application of the Tethered Satellite (TS) as an operational remote sensing platform is studied. It represents a new platform capable of covering the altitudes between airplanes and free flying satellites, offering an adequate lifetime, high ...

Cosmic dust collection with a sub satellite tethered to a Space Station [PDF]

open access: yes
The number concentration and density of 1 micron and submicron sized grains in interplanetary space, as well as their relation to the larger zodical dust particles, and the importance of the beta meteoroid phenomenon are currently being questioned.

Demonstration of beat‐to‐beat, on‐demand ATP synthesis in ventricular myocytes reveals sex‐specific mitochondrial and cytosolic dynamics

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Beat‐locked mitochondrial ATP transients reveal modular, sex‐specific bioenergetic control during excitation–contraction coupling. A, each action potential activates L‐type CaV1.2 channels, producing a Ca2+ influx that triggers ryanodine receptors (RyR2) and elicits SR Ca2+ release.

Exploratory Meeting on Atmospheric Electricity and Severe Storms [PDF]

open access: yes
The meeting was arranged to discuss atmospheric electricity and its relationship to severe storms, the feasibility of developing a set of instruments for either a Space Shuttle or an unmanned satellite, and the scientific rationale which would warrant ...

Trafficking and potentiation of Nav1.7 and Nav1.8 channels are mediated by IQGAP1

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend IQGAP1 binds to the voltage‐gated Nav1.7 and Nav1.8 channels and TRPA1 channels in sensory neurons. Inflammatory mediators (IM), including PGE2 and TNFα, released during nerve injury and inflammation activate intracellular signalling messengers such as PKA, p38 MAPK and Cdc42 through their respective receptors.

System engineering study of electrodynamic tether as a spaceborne generator and radiator of electromagnetic waves in the ULF/ELF frequency band [PDF]

open access: yes
The transmission and generation by orbiting tethered satellite systems of information carrying electromagnetic waves in the ULF/ELF frequency band to the Earth at suitably high signal intensities was examined and the system maintaining these intensities ...

Tether length control for orbital transfer of tethered satellite

open access: yesTether length control for orbital transfer of tethered satellite
This study discusses orbital transfer of a tethered satellite system in equatorial plane.

Technologies for engineering repetitive DNA

open access: yesQuantitative Biology, Volume 14, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Repetitive DNA, a fundamental architectural element of genomes, is widespread across organisms and comprises about 54% of the human genome. With advances in long‐read sequencing and bioinformatics approaches, highly repetitive sequences can now be characterized in depth.

Feasibility of hydromagnetic wave measurements on space shuttle [PDF]

open access: yes
The feasibility of using a hydromagnetic wave sensor on the space shuttles was investigated. It was found that although existing sensors are inadequate in terms of resolution, dynamic range, and frequency range, they can be modified to make the necessary
