Ontogenetic development and redescription of Eotetranychus kankitus (Acariformes: Tetranychidae)
Eotetranychus kankitus Ehara, 1955 is redescribed from females, males, deutonymphs, protonymphs and larvae collected on Citrus reticulata Blanco (Rutaceae) from China. The ontogenetic changes in leg chaetotaxy are provided and compared with the similar species Eotetranychus tiliarium (Hermann, 1804) and the considerably hypotrichous species ...

Host adaptation and specialization in Tetranychidae mites
Plant Physiology, 2023Abstract Composite generalist herbivores are comprised of host-adapted populations that retain the ability to shift hosts. The degree and overlap of mechanisms used by host-adapted generalist and specialist herbivores to overcome the same host plant defenses are largely unknown. Tetranychidae mites are exceptionally suited to address the

A survey of chromosome complements in the Tetranychidae
International Journal of Acarology, 1981Abstract The chromosome numbers have been assessed for 31 bisexual species of 14 different genera of the Tetranychidae, bringing the total of karyotyped species in this family to 109. The taxonomic significance of karyotype information is discussed. A haploid number of n=5 occurs in Neotrichobia arizonensis, Eotetranychus fremonti and E. gambelii; of n=
