A new species of Aponychus (Acariformes, Tetranychidae) from China
Zootaxa, 2022Aponychus mai sp. nov. is the fourth reported species of Aponychus collected from bamboo in Baoshan City, Yunnan Province in Mainland China. We described this new species based on a larva, three deutonymphs and ten adults, and also explored the ontogenetic development, especially the discussion of the development in leg chaetotaxy.

Ontogenetic development and redescription of Tribolonychus collyerae (Acari: Tetranychidae)
Zootaxa, 2013Tribolonychus collyerae Zhang & Martin is redescribed based on the larva, protonymph, deutonymph and adult male and female specimens from New Zealand. The ontogenetic development of chaetotaxy in Tribolonychus and the number and position of solenidia on tibia I are discussed.

Spider Mites Web: A comprehensive database for the Tetranychidae
2010Online databases are becoming a standard tool to study taxonomy, biodiversity, and ecology. We have developed a comprehensive database for the family Tetranychidae (spider mites). The Tetranychidae is one of the most important families of the Acari in terms of economic impact, because it comprises several agricultural pest species of major relevance ...

The host range ofTetranychus lintearius (Acarina: Tetranychidae)
Experimental & Applied Acarology, 1991The host range ofTetranychus lintearius was examined experimentally to determine if the mite could be safely introduced into New Zealand for the biological control of gorse,Ulex europaeus (Leguminosae: Genisteae). The rationale for choosing test plants was the same as that employed for testing insect species as biological control agents. Outdoors, mite

Karyotypes and sex-determination in spider mites (Tetranychidae)
Genetica, 1967The chromosomes of 13 species of spider mites (Tetranychidae) are determined using the aceto-orcein squash technique in order to establish the haplo-diploid sex-determination. 12 species showed the existence of haploid and diploid eggs:Neotetranychus rubi (Tragardh) with 7 and 14 chromosomes;Eurytetranychus buxi (Garman) with 5 and 10;Bryobia ...

The carotenoid pigments of Schizonobia sycophanta Womersley (Acari: Tetranychidae)
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1974Abstract 1. 1. Nine carotenoids were isolated and identified from the spider mite Schizonobia sycophanta . 2. 2. Besides the unaltered plant carotenoids β-carotene, lutein, lutein-5,6-epoxide, violaxanthin and neoxanthin, all taken in with the food, the mites contained the keto-carotenoids echinenone, 3-hydroxy-4-keto-β-carotene, 3-hydroxy-4,
