Efforts Made to Eliminate Drug‐Resistant Malaria and Its Challenges
Since 2000, a good deal of progress has been made in malaria control. However, there is still an unacceptably high burden of the disease and numerous challenges limiting advancement towards its elimination and ultimate eradication. Among the challenges is the antimalarial drug resistance, which has been documented for almost all antimalarial drugs in ...

7, 8, 15, 16-Tetraoxa-dispiro [5. 2. 5. 2]hexadecane-3-carboxylic acid derivatives and their antimalarial activity [PDF]
Several C2 symmetrical mixed tetraoxanes were prepared starting from a gemdihydroperoxide and a ketone. The obtained tetraoxanes showed pronounced antimalarial activity against P. falciparum chloroquine resistant W2 and chloroquine susceptible D6 strains,

Cyclic Organic Peroxides as New Fungicides against Phytopathogenic Fungi
The search for new classes of fungicides has long been important in plant protection due to the development of fungal resistance to currently used agrochemicals. Organic peroxides have long been regarded as exotic and unstable compounds. The discovery of

Steroidal Tetraoxanes - New Class of Antitumor Compounds
Cholic acid derived steroidal tetraoxanes possessing methyl ester, carboxylic acid, primary and secondary amide termini were synthesised and their in vitro antitumor activity against Fem-X and HeLa cell cultures was determined. IC50 range between 3.1 and 166 M. Five out of seven tested compounds exhibited cell rounding and / or apoptic activity.

THEORETICAL STUDIES ON DIACETONEDIPEROXIDE DERIVATIVES AND COMPARISONS WITH OTHER MULTI-PEROXIDIC COMPOUNDS [PDF]
Diacetonediperoxide (DADP) derivatives were investigated with density functional theory (DFT) methods at the DFT-B3LYP and M06-2X/6-311++G (d, p) levels and were also compared with other multi-peroxidic compounds.

Synthesis and initial testing of novel antimalarial and antitubercular isonicotinohydrazides
Malaria and tuberculosis (TB) though curable and preventable, remain serious public health problems globally, with devastating consequences. Co-infection of these two deadly diseases worsens the situation and particularly makes treatment very difficult ...

A series of aryl carboxamide and benzylamino dispiro 1,2,4,5-tetraoxane analogues have been designed and synthesized in a short synthetic sequence from readily available starting materials. From this series of endoperoxides, molecules with in vitro IC50s versus Plasmodium falciparum (3D7) as low as 0.84 nM were identified.

SYNTHESIS AND PHYTOTOXIC PROFILE OF A NEW TETRAOXANE DESIGNED FROM A COMMERCIAL AUXIN [PDF]
Modern agriculture relies on the massive use of agrochemicals, including herbicides. Despite their effectiveness, a continuous use of herbicides sharing the same target has resulted in the selection of weed biotypes resistant to such chemicals.
