In vitro polyploidisation of tulips (Tulipa gesneriana L.) — Phenotype assessment of tetraploids
Scientia Horticulturae, 2018In vitro adventitious shoot cultures of three diploid tulip cultivars ('Fringed Black', 'Victor' and Pol-D 32) were treated with antimitotic agents (colchicine 200 mg L−1, oryzalin 5 mg L−1, amiprophos methyl 15 mg L−1 or trifluralin 100 mg L−1) in order

We collected and sequenced 203 accessions including 153 landraces and 50 improved cultivars, from 31 countries worldwide. These represent five botanical varieties [var. fastigiata (80), var. hypogaea (56), var. vulgaris (47), var. peruviana (11), and var. hirsuta (9)].

Tetraploid Diœcious Melandrium
Nature, 1952IN 1942 I published a short note1 on a tetraploid plant of diœcious Melandrium found growing wild in Svalov in southern Sweden. The specimen in question was a female individual growing between the fields behind the place where the new laboratories of chemistry and cytology were erected later. Its flowers were red, as in M. diœcum ssp.

First generation tetraploids were produced by hydrostatic pressure treatment before the first cleavage and raised until the adult stage. Their survival and growth were severely depressed when compared to the diploid control: after two years, no ovulated females were found although males produced sperm at 1 and 2 years of age and were mated individually

PRENATAL DIAGNOSIS OF A TETRAPLOID FETUS
Prenatal Diagnosis, 1997A tetraploid fetus with an unusual facial appearance and multiple congenital anomalies (large cerebral lateral ventricles; lung, cardiac, and genital abnormalities) is reported. Chromosome analysis was performed on amniocytes and fetal blood lymphocytes. A comparison is made with other reported cases (nine liveborn infants and one 17.2-week-old fetus).

A RECENT communication1 has suggested that among Hymenoptera Symphyta males may be diploid, females tetraploid. It was further suggested that this characteristic might help to explain the phenomena of pre-conjugation as seen in Apis and Cynips kollari.

Development of cytochalasin B-induced tetraploid and diploid/tetraploid mosaic mouse embryos
Development, 1977ABSTRACTBy subjecting F1 (CBA × C57/BL) × A eggs at the time of 2nd cleavage to 10 μg/ml of cytochalasin B (CB), tetraploidy was produced in 52 % of 2-cell eggs and 35 % of 3-cell eggs. 2n/4n mosaic embryos were produced from 2-, 3- and 4-cell eggs and amounted to 20 % of all treated eggs.

This paper describes an efficient colchicine-mediated technique for the in vitro induction of tetraploids in Astragalus membranaceus and its confirmation by flow cytometry. Buds immersed in 0.2% colchicine solution for 36 h prior to culture induced as high as 35.3% tetraploid plants. Colchicine-induced tetraploids remained stable after 6 months in soil.

Tetraploid/near-tetraploid acute promyelocytic leukaemia with double (15;17) translocation.
The Malaysian journal of pathology, 2021A 57-year-old man presented with intermittent fever and bleeding following dental surgery. Peripheral smear and bone marrow aspirate exhibited unusually large and bizarre-looking abnormal cells which were found to be myeloblasts with aberrant CD56 and CD2 expression on immunophenotyping.
