Dynamic filtration with a perforated disk for dewatering of Tetraselmis suecica

Environmental Technology, 2017
Dynamic filtration equipped with a perforated disk was adopted for the first time to dewater and concentrate Tetraselmis suecica, from a typical solution of 2-100 g/L of dense biomass suited for the downstream process. An ultrafiltration membrane, polyethersulfone 150 kDa, was found to best perform in terms of high biomass retention and filtration rate.

Specificity in the Convoluta Roscoffensis/Tetraselmis Symbiosis

1988
Convoluta roscoffensis is an intertidal acoel turbellarian (fflatworm1) that is locally abundant on sandy beaches of the Brittany coast of France and nearby Channel Islands. It is a conspicuous member of the beach fauna, for two reasons: first, the animals are green, due to the presence of algal symbionts of the genus Tetraselmis (=Platymonas ...

Glycosylceramides from marine green microalga Tetraselmis sp.

Phytochemistry, 2013
Glycosylceramides are ubiquitous and important components of the plasma membrane in most eukaryotic cells and a few bacteria. They play significant roles in a variety of cellular functions. Their molecular structures are well recognized in animals, higher plants, and fungi, but are poorly characterized in lower plants.

Mixotrophic growth of Tetraselmis viridis in axenic culture

Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)
On the example of laboratory culture of Tetraselmis viridis (Rouchijajnen) R.E.Norris, Hori & Chihara, 1980, the possibility of mixotrophic growth of microalgae in the cumulative axenic cultivation mode was experimentally demonstrated. The implementation of mixotrophy consisted in supplying an additional source of energy and carbon to the initial ...

Omics exploration of Tetraselmis chuii adaptations to diverse light regimes

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek
Microalgae are significantly influenced by light quality and quantity, whether in their natural habitats or under laboratory and industrial culture conditions. The present study examines the adaptive responses of the marine microalga Tetraselmis chuii to different light regimes, using a cost-effective filtering method and a multi-omics approach ...

Microbial interactions in Tetraselmis suecica phycosphere

2017
The zone that surrounds microalgal cells is defined as phycosphere. Algae-bacteria interactions in the phycosphere can be neutral, positive or negative for algal growth and can vary depending on the main growth limiting factors. Besides, the same bacteria can either stimulate or inhibit algal growth.
