Harnessing Algal Biorefineries for Waste to Wealth Paradigm: A Pathway Toward Circular and Sustainable Bioeconomy

open access: yesCleanMat, Volume 2, Issue 4, Page 297-326, December 2025.
This review highlights the use of wastewater from various sources including industrial, municipal, and agricultural effluents for microalgal cultivation. It emphasizes on the integrated approach of wastewater treatment and microalgal biomass production for high value‐added bioproducts such as biofuels, animal feed, biofertilizers, bioplastics while ...

Cultivation Medium Design Via Elemental Balancing for Tetraselmis suecica

open access: yesChemical and Biochemical Engineering Quarterly, 2010
The primary requirements for high-biomass-concentration microalgal cultivation include a photon source and distribution, efficient gas exchange and suitable growth medium composition. However, for mass outdoor production of microalgae, growth medium composition is a major controlling factor as most of the other factors such as light source and ...

Cultivation of Anabaena sp. at Different Phosphorus Excess Concentrations: Growth Parameters, Value‐Added Metabolites, and Microcystin‐LR Production

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 177, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT Phosphorus is a key driver of cyanobacterial proliferation and the production of secondary metabolites in freshwater ecosystems. In this study, the effects of different phosphorus concentrations, including 7.10 (control treatment), 7.74, 8.38, and 9.66 mg L−1 (CP230, TP250, TP271, and TP312, respectively), on growth, valuable biochemicals, as ...

Effect of bisphenol A, an emergent aquatic micropollutant, on the marine microalga "Tetraselmis suecica" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
[Resumen] Los microcontaminantes emergentes como el bisfenol A son objeto de estudio en la actualidad por el escaso conocimiento que se posee de éstos al pasar de inadvertida su presencia en el medio ambiente y las consecuencias de la misma.

Culturing the solitary ascidian Phallusia nigra in closed and open water systems for tropical environmental research

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 23, Issue 10, Page 700-714, October 2025.
Abstract Marine and coastal ecosystems have been undergoing dramatic shifts due to global environmental changes. The rise in seawater temperature, ocean acidification, hypoxia, eutrophication, and anthropogenic pollution severely affects marine organisms.

Cultivation of Tetraselmis suecica under Different Types of Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Science International, 2012
【The purpose of this study was to determine optimum conditions for the cultivation of Tetraselmis suecica (T. suecica) under illumination of four different types of LEDs (i.e., blue, red, white, and mixed). Initial cell concentration was $4{\times}10^4$ cells/mL and temperature of reactor was maintained between 21- $24^{\circ}C$ .
