Recognising textual entailment with logical inference [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the conference on Human Language Technology and Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing - HLT '05, 2005
We use logical inference techniques for recognising textual entailment. As the performance of theorem proving turns out to be highly dependent on not readily available background knowledge, we incorporate model building, a technique borrowed from automated reasoning, and show that it is a useful robust method to approximate entailment.

Word Overlap Artifacts in Textual Entailment Models: A Study with Multilingual Back Translation on the SNLI Dataset

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
This paper investigates the domain of Natural Language Inference (NLI), with an emphasis on Recognizing Textual Entailment (RTE). We utilize the Stanford Natural Language Inference (SNLI) dataset, a benchmark for RTE tasks, to examine the efficacy of ...

Optimizing textual entailment recognition using particle swarm optimization

open access: yes, 2009
This paper introduces a new method to improve tree edit distance approach to textual entailment recognition, using particle swarm optimization. Currently, one of the main constraints of recognizing textual entailment using tree edit distance is to ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Arabic Textual Entailment with Word Embeddings [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Third Arabic Natural Language Processing Workshop, 2017
Determining the textual entailment between texts is important in many NLP tasks, such as summarization, question answering, and information extraction and retrieval. Various methods have been suggested based on external knowledge sources; however, such resources are not always available in all languages and their acquisition is typically laborious and ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...
