The texture of thin NiSi films and its effect on agglomeration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Nickel silicide films are used as contacting materials in the micro electronics industry. It was recently [1] discovered that these films exhibit a peculiar type of texture, which was called 'axiotaxy', whereby certain lattice planes in the NiSi grains ...

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Texture image analysis and texture classification methods - A review

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
Tactile texture refers to the tangible feel of a surface and visual texture refers to see the shape or contents of the image. In the image processing, the texture can be defined as a function of spatial variation of the brightness intensity of the pixels. Texture is the main term used to define objects or concepts of a given image.

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Texture Analysis of Thyroid Nodules Using Computed Tomography: Is it a Viable Method for Objective Assessment of Thyroid Nodules?

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Ear Nose and Throat
Objective: Computed aided detection (CAD) systems can be developed to help radiologists in the accurate interpretation of computed tomography (CT) images. The recently popularised texture analysis method allows for qualitative and quantitative evaluation

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

EMOTION RECOGNITION USING TEXTURE ANALYSIS

open access: yesInformatika, 2016
In the paper the role of texture (pixel values) in a task of emotion recognition in the image of a face is explored. Texture-based method is compared to classic methods based on coordinates of key point.

Adaptive Segmentation of Knee Radiographs for Selecting the Optimal ROI in Texture Analysis

open access: yes, 2019
The purposes of this study were to investigate: 1) the effect of placement of region-of-interest (ROI) for texture analysis of subchondral bone in knee radiographs, and 2) the ability of several texture descriptors to distinguish between the knees with ...
