Nanoscale phase separation in $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$ films: evidence for the texture driven optical anisotropy

open access: yes, 2002
The IR optical absorption (0.1-1.5 eV) in the $La_{0.7}Ca_{0.3}MnO_3$ films on LAO substrate exhibits the drastic temperature evolution of the spectral weight evidencing the insulator to metal transition.

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Texture evolution of tungsten materials during recrystallization

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Abstract Some functional and structural performance of tungsten (W) are related to its texture characteristics. Usually, W serves in high temperature and may undergo recrystallization. Thus it’s necessary to evaluate the recrystallization texture of W.

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Cosmic Microwave Background non-Gaussian signatures from analytical texture models [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Using an analytical model for the Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropies produced by textures, we compute the resulting collapsed three--point correlation function and the {\it rms} expected value due to the cosmic variance.

Computer Simulation of Rolling Textures Evolution of Pure Aluminum with Initial Texture

open access: yesMATERIALS TRANSACTIONS, 2004
The experimental of rolling texture development in pure aluminum with initial texture was carried out. The rolling texture mainly consists of components B and S while the C component is also observed. The rolling textures evolution was simulated by the Taylor-type models. For the full constraints (FC) Taylor model, the mean method over all the possible

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

Experiment and Crystal Plasticity Simulation of Forming Limit of Quenching Partitioning Steel

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
Quenching-partitioning (QP) steel combines ultrahigh strength with good ductility due to the martensitic transformation during plastic deformation. However, the formability of the QP1180 steel remains unclear.
