MRI Boundary-Aware Segmentation of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions Using a Novel Mahalanobis Distance Map
The accurate segmentation of multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is essential for diagnosis, disease monitoring, and therapeutic assessment. Despite the significant advances in deep learning-based segmentation, the current

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

On the analysis of structure in texture
Until now texture has been largely viewed as a statistical or holistic paradigm: textures are described as a whole and by summary statistics. In this thesis it is assumed that there is a structure underlying the texture leading to models, reconstruction ...

Evaluation of local orientation for texture classification [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to present a study where we evaluate the optimal inclusion of the texture orientation in the classification process. In this paper the orientation for each pixel in the image is extracted using the partial derivatives of the ...

The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Resolving the Structural Duality of Graphene Grain Boundaries
Cantilever ncAFM resolves the atomic structure of grain boundaries in graphene, revealing coexisting stable and metastable types. Both contain pentagon/heptagon defects, but metastable GBs show irregular geometries. Modeling shows metastable GBs form under compression, exhibiting vertical corrugation, while stable GBs are flat.
