Unexpected similarity between HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and tumor necrosis factor binding sites revealed by computer vision

open access: yesJournal of Cheminformatics, 2021
Rationalizing the identification of hidden similarities across the repertoire of druggable protein cavities remains a major hurdle to a true proteome-wide structure-based discovery of novel drug candidates.

When proteases reshape barriers: Basement membrane remodelling in development, wound healing and tumour progression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Basement membrane (BM) homeostasis relies on a balance between integrity, controlled remodelling and pathological degradation. Increased protease expression beneath the BM, along with reduced levels of endogenous protease inhibitors, drives the transition from a continuous, protective barrier to a discontinuous interface.

Gold(I)-Catalyzed Domino Reaction for Furopyrans Synthesis

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
We report herein an efficient synthesis of furopyran derivatives through a gold(I)-catalyzed domino reaction. The cascade reaction starts with two regioselective cyclizations, a 5-endo-dig and a 8-endo-dig, followed with a Grob-type fragmentation and a ...

Intermittent hypoxia increases lipid insulin resistance in healthy humans: A randomized crossover trial

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
This scheme illustrates the main results of the present study showing an increase in circulating free fatty acids (FFA) that are likely to be related to several mechanisms like decrease in FFA insulin sensitivity and increase in FFA production. Significant changes are labelled in white, and non‐significant or hypothesis are labelled in pale green ...

Binding mode information improves fragment docking

open access: yesJournal of Cheminformatics, 2019
Docking is commonly used in drug discovery to predict how ligand binds to protein target. Best programs are generally able to generate a correct solution, yet often fail to identify it.
