IR spectra of oxygen adsorbed on SnO2

Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 1975
IR spectra of oxygen adsorbed on SnO2 with and without lattice defects have been studied. At low temperatures oxygen is adsorbed on defect SnO2 in two forms of O 2 − . This supports the earlier results obtained by ESR. The low-temperature forms of adsorbed oxygen (unrevealed in ESR spectra) were detected on defectless SnO2.

Oxygen species adsorbed on zinc oxide

Chemical Physics Letters, 1971
Oxygen enriched with 17O has been used to identify O2− adsorbed on partially reduced ZnO. The unpaired electron interacts with both oxygen nuclei equally and the hyperfine tensor is Axx = 80. Ayy = 0 and Azz = 15 gauss.

Magnetism of adsorbed oxygen on carbon nanohorns

Chemical Physics Letters, 2005
Abstract Magnetic susceptibilities for adsorbed O 2 on heat-treated single-wall carbon nanohorns (HT-SWNHs) showed anomalous features as compared with those on as-grown SWNHs. Magnetism for the latter case was similar to that for bulky solid O 2 , indicating the magnetic phase transitions associated with gaseous to liquid and in solid states (γ–β ...

Oxygen adsorbed on rare earth surfaces

Surface Science, 1996
Abstract The adsorption of oxygen on the surfaces of the rare earth metals Gd, Nd, and Tb was investigated using VUV photoelectron spectroscopy. As substrates served thin films showing the (0001) surfaces of crystals. This study utilized the technique of circular dichroism in the angular distribution of photoelectrons CDAD.

Properties of adsorbed oxygen on Au/SiO2

Catalysis Today, 1998
Abstract Oxygen adsorption on silica-supported gold catalyst from NO 2 and O 2 exposures were investigated by temperature-programmed desorption spectroscopy under a vacuum condition. NO 2 and O 2 exposures of the surface of the catalyst at room temperature gave adsorbed oxygen in atomic state.

Oxygen reduction on adsorbed iron tetrapyridinoporphyrazine

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 1989
Abstract The electrocatalytic properties of iron tetrapyridino porphyrazine FeTPyPz for the reduction on O2 in alkaline media have been examined with cyclic voltammetry and rotating ring disk techniques. Four distinct redox peaks are observed in the absence of O2 in solution for this material adsorbed at monolayer coverages on ordinary pyrolytic ...

Adsorbed Oxygen as an Amorphous Antiferromagnetic System

Physical Review Letters, 1977
Oxygen adsorbed on porous Vycor glass, a heterogeneous substrate, displays properties of an amorphous antiferromagnet. However, no antiferromagnetic ordering transition is seen for submonolayer coverages in the temperature range studied (1.9--95 K) although these coverages have paramagnetic Curie temperatures as large as -50 K.

Thermal rearrangement of oxygen adsorbed on oxygen-rich Ru(0001)

Surface Science, 2001
Abstract Atomic oxygen adsorbed on oxide domains terminating an oxidized Ru(0 0 0 1) surface is marked by its unusually high chemical reactivity as compared to other known oxygen species. We applied thermal desorption spectroscopy employing isotopic labeling to characterize the thermally driven incorporation of these oxygen atoms into the subsurface ...

Adsorbents in Liquid Oxygen Containers

1960
The liquid oxygen converter has become an important component in modern military aircraft. As a result high vacuum containers for liquid oxygen must be made which meet increasing demands of reliability under increasingly adverse conditions. The success of the containers depends upon maintaining a high static vacuum for as long a period as possible.

Oxygen on Cu(100) – a case of an adsorbate induced reconstruction

Surface Science, 1989
Abstract We show that at and above room temperature only a single long range ordered superstructure exists on Cu(100). This is the ( 2 × 2 2 )R45° structure, which corresponds to a saturation coverage of θo = 0.48 ± 0.05. A well-ordered c(2 × 2) superstructure is not observed in the investigated range of adsorption temperatures (Tads = 300–
