Magnetic Susceptibility of Oxygen Adsorbed on Graphite
Physical Review Letters, 1978The susceptibility of oxygen adsorbed on graphite indicates that magnetic transitions are present even in films of submonolayer thickness. This result contrasts with previous work on amorphous oxygen films and strongly supports the supposition that antiferromagnetic order can only be present simultaneously with configurational order.

A RHEED study of oxygen adsorbed on copper
Surface Science, 1982Abstract The effect of oxygen adsorption on various clean, stepped copper surfaces at 300°C was examined by the use of Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction (RHEED). The stability of a few high index planes is considered and the idea of this enhanced stability being due to a “fit” between the adsorption structure and the terrace width was ...

Surface Science, 1967
Abstract Considerable detailed information may be obtained about the nature of the adsorbate phase and the changes that take place at the adsorbate-adsorbent interface subsequent to the chemisorption of a gas at a metal surface by measurement of rapid changes of the work function of the metal.

Phase transition of dissociatively adsorbed oxygen on Ag(001)
Physical Review B, 2000We show that dissociative oxygen adsorption on Ag(001) induces below room temperature a missing row 2 root 2x root 2 reconstruction of the substrate. As demonstrated by the analysis of the photoelectron diffraction patterns, the oxygen atoms sit thereby in a c(2x2) arrangement in the previous fourfold hollow sites nearly coplanar with the Ag atoms ...

Oxygen exchange between adsorbed oxygen and cesium-added zeolite X
Microporous Materials, 1997Abstract Oxygen exchange between adsorbed oxygen and the zeolite X which contains cesium ions in excess of the ion-exchange capacity (cesium-added zeolite X) was studied by TPD of adsorbed 18 O 2 . The desorbed oxygen molecules were composed mainly of 18 O 2 and 16 O 2 ; the fraction of 18 O 16 O was small, indicating that a pair of oxygen atoms

Oxygen exchange between NO gas and adsorbed atomic oxygen on Pt(335)
Surface Science, 1999Abstract We have used temperature-programmed desorption with isotopically labeled gases to study O exchange between gas phase NO and adsorbed atomic O on Pt(335). We find two distinct types of adsorbed O, one of which exchanges at least 40 times faster than the other, at room temperature.

Robust oxygen adsorbent mediated oxygen redox reactions for high performance lithium-oxygen battery
Journal of Colloid and Interface ScienceLithium-oxygen batteries (LOBs) have been widely studied because of their ultra-high energy density (∼3500 Wh kg-1). However, the reversibility and stability of LOBs are greatly limited by the sluggish kinetics of oxygen reduction/evolution reactions (ORR/OER) and severely parasitic reactions on oxygen electrodes. Electrolyte in LOBs plays an important

Surface-Adsorbed Oxygen-Triggered Luminescence-Guided Defect Engineering of Oxygen Vacancy
ACS Applied Materials & InterfacesOxygen vacancies (Ov) in metal oxide-based materials can regulate their surface chemical and electronic properties, and thus the amount of Ov is crucial to exert their photo-, electro-, and thermocatalytic performances. Defect engineering has been introduced to prepare metal oxide-based materials with sufficient Ov.
