Rapid Discrimination of Adsorbed Oxygen and Lattice Oxygen in Catalysts by the Cataluminescence Method

Analytical Chemistry, 2022
Adsorbed oxygen and lattice oxygen are crucial parameters for catalyst characterization and catalytic oxidation mechanism. Therefore, rapid discrimination of adsorbed oxygen and lattice oxygen is highly desired. Herein, a direct correlation between cataluminescence (CTL) kinetic curve and oxygen species was discovered. The adsorbed oxygen-catalyzed CTL

Semiconducting nature of the oxygen-adsorbed graphene sheet

Journal of Applied Physics, 2008
Structural and electronic properties for oxygen-adsorbed graphene sheets have been explored using first-principles total-energy calculations within the local density functional theory. A finite energy gap emerges for the oxygen-adsorbed graphene and its value increases with the ratio of O∕C, as manifested by experiments.

New feature in the Auger peak of adsorbed oxygen

Surface Science, 2006
Recent joint theoretical and experimental investigations of Auger core-core-valence spectra of alkali adatoms on simple metals have revealed that such technique is capable to ascertain contributions from different adsorption environments in the signal [M.I. Chemisorption of oxygen and hydrogen on nickel films — reconstitution of the adsorbate-adsorbent interface

Surface Science, 1967
Abstract Considerable detailed information may be obtained about the nature of the adsorbate phase and the changes that take place at the adsorbate-adsorbent interface subsequent to the chemisorption of a gas at a metal surface by measurement of rapid changes of the work function of the metal.

Oxygen adsorbed on metallic oxides and the redox mechanism

Catalysis Today, 1987
Abstract Reactions of propene and methanol with the labile oxygen of Sb4SnFe0.25Ox, Cr2O3 and V-Mo-O catalysts have been studied by isotherm and temperature programmed techniques. It is shown that the labile oxygen of the tin antimony oxide catalyst is involved in the redox mechanism of selective propene oxidation and that weakly bound labile oxygen ...
