A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

The right to live in a family and the subsidiarity of adoption in the light of the best interests of the childs

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Jurisprudencia, 2019
Adoption rates in Chile, in relation to the number of children placed in alternative care systems, are considerably low. Although there are a multiplicity of factors that motivate the previous situation, one that we consider of particular relevance, is ...

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Особливості судового рішення у справах за участі дітей

open access: yesНаукові записки НаУКМА: Юридичні науки
The article is devoted to the development of approaches to the consideration of court cases with the participation of children, one of which may be the introduction of special requirements for a court decision that concerns a child, which will help to ...

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

THE PRINCIPLE OF THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD [PDF]

open access: yesChallenges of the Knowledge Society, 2019
Since 1919, the recognition of children's rights has begun to find an international echo, when the League of Nations ”came to life”, the name of which links to the Geneva Declaration of 1924. Adopted in 1989, by the Convention on the Rights of the Child,

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Best interests: The ‘best’ way for courts to decide if young children should act as bone marrow donors?

open access: yes, 2017
Young children who are called upon to donate regenerative tissue – most commonly bone marrow – to save the life of a sick relative are in a unique position.
