Provenance of Triassic Feldspathic Sandstones in the Iberian Range (Spain): significance of Quartz Types [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The base of the Triassic in the Iberian Range is represented by detrital sediments (Buntsandstein facies) deposited initially in a continental environment, finally evolving into a marine environment that is represented at the top of the sequence.

Exotic hadronic states and all-to-all quark propagators

open access: yes, 1997
We discuss methods to obtain accurate hadronic spectra with propagating quarks. Comparing the determination of masses for spin-exotic hybrid mesons with glueball mass determinations, we conclude that quark propagators from all sites to all other sites ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Scalable Techniques for Similarity Search [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Document similarity is similar to the nearest neighbour problem and has applications in various domains. In order to determine the similarity / dissimilarity of the documents first they need to be converted into sets containing shingles. Each document is

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Optimal solution of the nearest correlation matrix problem by minimization of the maximum norm [PDF]

open access: yes
The nearest correlation matrix problem is to find a valid (positive semidefinite) correlation matrix, R(m,m), that is nearest to a given invalid (negative semidefinite) or pseudo-correlation matrix, Q(m,m); m larger than 2.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
