The center problem and the composition condition for a family of quartic differential systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2018
In this paper we give coefficient conditions for existence of a center in a family of planar quartic polynomial differential systems. We also show that for all considered center cases the Composition Condition is satisfied.

A Trade-Off Algorithm for Solving p-Center Problems with a Graph Convolutional Network

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2022
The spatial optimization method between combinatorial optimization problems and GIS has many geographical applications. The p-center problem is a classic NP-hard location modeling problem, which has essential applications in many real-world scenarios ...

The problem of two fixed centers: bifurcation diagram for positive energies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2015
We give a comprehensive analysis of the Euler-Jacobi problem of motion in the field of two fixed centers with arbitrary relative strength and for positive values of the energy. These systems represent nontrivial examples of integrable dynamics and are analysed from the point of view of the energy-momentum mapping from the phase space to the space of ...

On the validity of the guiding-center approximation in the presence of strong magnetic gradients

open access: yes, 2017
The motion of a charged particle in a nonuniform straight magnetic field with a uniform magnetic-field gradient is solved exactly in terms of elliptic functions. The connection between this problem and the guiding-center approximation is discussed. It is

Fuzzy uncertainty modelling for project planning; application to helicopter maintenance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Maintenance is an activity of growing interest specially for critical systems. Particularly, aircraft maintenance costs are becoming an important issue in the aeronautical industry. Managing an aircraft maintenance center is a complex activity.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Center conditions for a cubic differential system with one invariant straight line and one invariant conic

open access: yesActa et Commentationes: Ştiinţe Exacte şi ale Naturii
In this work we find the center conditions for a cubic system of differential equations with a critical point of a center or a focus type having one invariant straight line and one invariant conic. The center-focus problem is studied by using the Darboux

Some variants of reverse selective center location problem on trees under the Chebyshev and Hamming norms [PDF]

open access: yesYugoslav Journal of Operations Research, 2017
This paper is concerned with two variants of the reverse selective center location problems on tree graphs under the Hamming and Chebyshev cost norms in which the customers are existing on a selective subset of the vertices of the underlying tree.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
