Bovine Tropical Theileriosis

Bovine tropical theilerisosis in cattle caused by a haemoprotozoan parasite, Theileria annulata. It is mainly lymph node-proliferative and erythrolytic disease characterized by swollen lymph node, splenomegaly, high fever, anaemia, weakness, conjunctivitis, loss of body weight, low milk production yield and poor productivity. The stages of the parasite

Immunogenetics factors of resistance to theileriosis

1988

The Humoral Responses in Theileriosis

1981
The significance and role of the humoral antibodies that are readily demonstrable in theileriosis is essentially unknown. In spite of this, they may provide us an indicator of immune status, aid us in epidemiological and diagnostic activities, and serve as an invaluable adjunct to our laboratory investigations.

Cellular Immune Response in Theileriosis

1981
Cattle immunized against Theileria p. parva by infection and treatment are solidly immune to challenge with the homologous parasite for at least three years (Burridge et al, 1972). They are also fully resistant to some further isolates of the parasite but show varying degrees of susceptibility to other isolates (Radley et al, 1975).
