Supplemental knowledge on survival of Thelohanellus kitauei spores in vitro

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Parasitology, 1994
In order to search the fate of Thelohanellus kitauei spores the extrusion rates of the polar filaments were monitored in vitro chronologically. Preserved spores suspended with various solutions at -70 degrees C showed almost the same vigorous pattern as early freezing stages up to 1,750 days after initial preservation.

open access: yes, 2013

Stressor interactions affect myxozoan abundance in a 42-year dataset from the Pearl River, Louisiana, USA

open access: yesParasitology
Environmental change can impact host–parasite interactions, but the effects of multiple stressors on parasites are rarely measured. Considering stressor interactions may allow parasitologists to evaluate how parasite burdens change in nature, where ...

Različite manifestacije obolenja izazvanog Thelohanellus nikolskii kod šarana (Cyprinus carpio) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Thelohanellosis is a disease that occurs in all carp categories. The cause is protozoa Thelohanellus nikolskii Achmerov, 1955. It manifests itself in two forms. The first form occurs on the fins in oneyear- old carp fry and the second one occurs on scales in two-yearold, three-year-old and older categories of common carp (Cyprinus carpio).
