SWI-Prolog and the Web [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Where Prolog is commonly seen as a component in a Web application that is either embedded or communicates using a proprietary protocol, we propose an architecture where Prolog communicates to other components in a Web application using the standard HTTP ...

On the Way to a Theory for Network Architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The design of the future Internet is facing real challenges on network architecture. Attempts to resolve the issues related to naming/addressing, middle boxes, QoS-Security-Mobility interactions, cross-layer and inter-domain usually lead to endless debates.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The Alphabet of Architecture. Originality and Literacy in the Theory of Profiles

open access: yesRA. Revista de Arquitectura, 2022
In 1691 Augustin-Charles D’Aviler published his Cours d’architecture qui comprend les ordres de Vignole. Ostensibly one of the many extended editions of Vignola’s Regola delli cinque ordini d’architettura (1562) that would appear over the course of the ...

O'Mega: An Optimizing Matrix Element Generator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We sketch the architecture of O'Mega, a new optimizing compiler for tree amplitudes in quantum field theory, and briefly describe its usage. O'Mega generates the most efficient code currently available for scattering amplitudes for many polarized ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Bearing Fault Diagnosis of Split Attention Network Based on Deep Subdomain Adaptation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The insufficient learning ability of traditional convolutional neural network for key fault features, as well as the characteristic distribution of vibration data of rolling bearing collected under variable working conditions is inconsistent, and ...

Space is the machine, part four: theoretical syntheses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Part IV of the book, ‘Theoretical Syntheses’, begins to draw together some of the questions raised in Part I, the regularities shown in Part II and the laws proposed in Part III, to suggest how the two central problems in architectural theory, namely the
