Thermal Behavior of Biaxial Piezoelectric MEMS-Scanners [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2023
This paper presents the thermal behavior of non-resonant (quasi-static) piezoelectric biaxial MEMS scanners with Bragg reflectors. These scanners were developed for LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) applications using a pulsed 1550 nm laser with an ...

Numerical investigation on the double-layer porous plate of transpiration cooling with phase change under different heat flux

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2023
Transpiration cooling is a potential active thermal protection method for aircraft under severe thermal environment. Though it is cooling efficiency that is of concern in most structural designs, the injection pressure is equally critical for ...

Experimental study of cooling air effect on overall cooling of laminated configuration at a turbine vane end-wall

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
Turbine vane end-wall cooling management is complicated by the sophisticated cascade flow, generating the non-uniform distribution of metal temperature at end-wall surface, a negative factor of component durability.

Thermal Resonance and Cell Behavior [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
From a thermodynamic point of view, living cell life is no more than a cyclic process. It starts with the newly separated daughter cells and restarts when the next generations grow as free entities. During this cycle, the cell changes its entropy. In cancer, the growth control is damaged.

Fatigue-creep behaviors of Ni–Fe based superalloy under various testing conditions

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
The fatigue-creep properties of Ni–Fe based superalloy with varying strain amplitude, temperature and holding duration are studied in ambient air. The results demonstrated that the number of cycles decreases greatly with increasing strain amplitude from ...

Overall thermal performances of backward film cooling with simulated surface thermal barrier coatings at various walls

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
Backward film cooling can protect more efficiently some regions of turbine hot components, in comparison with the forward jet. The rapid increase of operational temperature requires the developments of the coupling of active cooling and thermal barrier ...

Modeling and Numerical Investigation of Transient Two-Phase Flow with Liquid Phase Change in Porous Media

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Two-phase flow with phase change in microstructure or nanostructure is an important issue in many fronts and critical applications nowadays, but with a lack of comprehensive understanding of the mechanism.

Universal Behavior of the Thermal Hall Conductivity [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2020
We report theoretical and experimental analyses of the thermal Hall conductivity in correlated systems. For both fermionic and bosonic excitations with nontrivial topology, we show that at "intermediate" temperatures, the thermal Hall conductivity exhibits an unexpected universal scaling with a simple exponential form.

Thermal behavior of polytriazole films: A thermal analysis study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 1989
AbstractThe thermal behavior of poly(1,3‐phenyl‐1,4‐phenyl)‐4‐phenyl‐1,2,4‐triazole has been investigated using different scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG). Processes are studied for this thermally stable polymer that take place between 200 and 500°C. While the polycondensation reaction product in powder from appeared to be partially
