Calculations of Surface Thermal Expansion [PDF]
Using a method previously described, we have calculated the coefficients of thermal expansion for the first two interplanar spacings near the (111) and (100) surfaces of Ar, Kr, and Xe. The bulk thermal expansion, which is obtained as a by-product in the calculation, is found to be in good agreement with experimental measurements at all temperatures up

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Since the composition and stress state of thermal-insulation composite plates are extremely complex, it is difficult to conduct calculation using conventional methods. Further calculation on its composition structure is even more difficult.

Puzzlement about thermal redshift
Discussed is the classical theoretical description of the experimentally established thermal redshift of spectral lines. Straightforward calculation of the observable spectrum from a canonical ensamble of monochromatic radiators yileds overall blueshift ...

A direct method for the evaluation of lower and upper bound ratchet limits [PDF]
The calculation of the ratchet limit is often vital for the assessment of the design and integrity of components which are subject to cyclic loading. This work describes the addition of a lower bound calculation to the existing Linear Matching Method ...

Thermal-flow calculations for a thermal waste treatment plant
Abstract Thermal waste treatment plants are an answer to the important problem of waste neutralization on the one hand, while inspiring various emotions in society due to their impact on their planned or existing sites on the other. The primary benefit from incinerating waste is the ability to reuse it as fuel to produce energy.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Coherent thermal conductance in multilayer photonic crystals
We present an exact calculation of the coherent thermal conductance in a 1-D multilayer photonic crystals (PC) using the S-matrix method. In particular, we study the thermal conductance in a bilayer structure of slabs of Si/vacuum or Al$_2$O$_3$/vacuum ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Research on deconvolution methods for thermal network of power devices
The structure function method is critical for obtaining Cauer thermal network models for power devices. However, in its deconvolution step, different calculation methods have a large impact on the results, which affects the accuracy of the thermal ...
