We present an ab initio calculation of the DC conductivity of amorphous silicon and hydrogenated amorphous silicon. The Kubo-Greenwood formula is used to obtain the DC conductivity, by thermal averaging over extended dynamical simulation. Its application

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

High-Temperature Transport Properties of the Zintl Phases Yb_(11)GaSb_9 and Yb_(11)InSb_9 [PDF]
Two rare-earth Zintl phases, Yb_(11)GaSb_9 and Yb_(11)InSb_9, were synthesized in high-temperature self-fluxes of molten Ga and In, respectively. Structures were characterized by both single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction and are ...

Effect of Sb deficiency on the thermoelectric properties of Zn4Sb3
We have investigated the effect of Sb-deficiency on the thermoelectric figure of merit (zT) of Zn4Sb3 prepared by solid state reaction route. At high temperatures, the Seebeck coefficient (S) and electrical conductivity ({\sigma}) increase with increase ...

THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF UNSTEADY HEAT CONDUCTION IN SOLIDS
A mathematical model of the process of unsteady thermal conductivity of solids is proposed in the case where the dependence of the thermal characteristics of the medium (heat capacity, density and thermal conductivity coefficient) on temperature cannot ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Effect of local chemistry and structure on thermal transport in doped GaAs
Using a first-principles approach, we analyze the impact of \textit{DX} centers formed by S, Se, and Te dopant atoms on the thermal conductivity of GaAs.

The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...
