Evaluation of Linear and Non-Linear Models to Describe Temperature-Dependent Development of Scopula subpunctaria (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) and Its Stage Transition Models

open access: yesAgronomy
Scopula subpunctaria (Herrich-Schaeffer), is a significant insect pest affecting tea plantations in China; however, its thermal developmental characteristics remain inadequately understood.

Thermal conductivity and dielectric constant of silicate materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Report on the thermal conductivity and dielectric constant of nonmetallic materials evaluates the mechanisms of heat transfer in evacuated silicate powders and establishes the complex dielectric constant of these materials.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Accuracy Improvement of the Large-Signal Model of a High-Power GaN HEMT using Power-Dependent Constant and Tapered Thermal Resistance Methods [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science
This study improved the accuracy of the large-signal model of a high-power gallium nitride (GaN) high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) by using power-dependent constant and tapered thermal resistance methods.

Second Order Corrections to QED Coupling at Low Temperature

open access: yes, 2008
We calculate the second order corrections to vacuum polarization tensor of photons at low temperatures, i.e; T $\le 10^{10}$ K ($T

Thermodynamical properties of dark energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We have investigated the thermodynamical properties of dark energy. Assuming that the dark energy temperature $T\sim a^{-n}$ and considering that the volume of the Universe enveloped by the apparent horizon relates to the temperature, we have derived the

On the ‘‘direct’’ calculation of thermal rate constants [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1995
We present a new approach for the direct (and correct) calculation of thermal rate constants k(T) (‘‘direct’’ meaning that one avoids having to solve the state-to-state reactive scattering problem, and ‘‘correct’’ meaning that the method contains no inherent approximations).

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Thermal requirements, life expectancy and fertility tables of Aphis craccivora (Hemiptera: Aphididae) in Vigna unguiculata (Fabales: Fabaceae) under laboratory conditions

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico
: The objective of this research was to determine the thermal requirements and develop life expectancy and fertility tables of Aphis craccivora (L.) in Vigna unguiculata (Walp.). The insects were kept in Petri dishes and fed V.

A Modified Thermal Time Model Quantifying Germination Response to Temperature for C3 and C4 Species in Temperate Grassland

open access: yesAgriculture, 2015
Thermal-based germination models are widely used to predict germination rate and germination timing of plants. However, comparison of model parameters between large numbers of species is rare. In this study, seeds of 27 species including 12 C4 and 15 C3
