The Bree problem with different yield stresses on-load and off-load and application to creep ratcheting

open access: yes, 2014
The ratchet boundaries and ratchet strains are derived for the Bree problem and an elastic perfectly plastic material with different yield stresses on-load and off-load.

Microstructures and Thermal Cycling Properties of Thermal Barrier Coatings Deposited by Hybrid Water-Stabilized Plasma Torch

open access: yes, 2020
Hybrid water-stabilized plasma (WSP-H) torches provide high-enthalpy plasma which may be utilized for high-throughput and yet economical spraying of coatings from powders, suspensions, and solutions.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Thermal-Resistance-Based Reliability of TIM1 Materials in a Lidded Thermal Test Vehicle Under Active Thermal Load-Cycling

open access: yes
The reliability of thermal interface materials (TIM1) in lidded high-power flip-chip packages is investigated using a thermal test vehicle (TTV) under active power cycling.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Thermal Changes in the Normal Menstrual Cycle [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1963
This study was undertaken in order to establish what changes of temperature occurred during the normal menstrual cycle of 115 fertile women. Temperature charts of 1134 cycles were provided by the patients. Out of this number 1088 cycles showed the rise in temperature which is associated with ovulation. Although there was a wide variation in time the
