Fluorine thermal stability of ZnO:F films investigated by thermal desorption spectroscopy

To estimate the fluorine thermal stability of fluorine doped zinc oxide (ZnO:F) films, ZnO:F films were prepared by co-sputtering zinc oxide(ZnO) and magnesium fluoride (MgF2) targets under different sputtering powers. The prepared films were tested with a thermal desorption system heated from room temperature to 500degC.

Abstract Thermal desorption spectroscopy of palladium and copper films grown on clean silica substrates was performed using CO2 laser heating. After cleaning the surface by high temperature heating, a controlled, low coverage dose of metal atoms was deposited on the substrate.

AbstractExposure of the ZnO(1010) prism face to NO at 90 K leads to two molecularly adsorbed NO species. The weakly bound form desorbs at 110 K and the strongly bound form desorbs at 420 K for low exposure and at 300 to 450 K for high exposures. Adsorption of the strongly bound form is activated and slower than of the weakly bound NO.

Thermal desorption spectroscopy of the O2/Pd(110) system

The interaction of oxygen with a Pd(110) surface was studied mainly by means of thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS); some Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) results are also presented. The results obtained show that at low adsorption temperatures (Tad < 160 K) oxygen adsorbs molecularly.

In the coldest regions of the interstellar medium, ice mantles are accreted on the surface of dust grains. These ice mantles are detected by infrared telescopes, revealing their composition, structure, etc. This wouldn’t be possible without a proper characterization of ice analogs in laboratories under astrophysically relevant conditions.
