The degradation of superconductivity of high-temperature oxide superconductors is caused from absorption of ambient H2O and CO2 which form impurities as grain boundary phases. We examined the states of H2O, CO2 and O2 in degraded samples by means of thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS) for a discussion of the degradation mechanisms.
