Numerical investigations of the effects of different factors on the displacement of energy pile under the thermo-mechanical loads

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2020
The displacement characteristics of energy pile are very important for its safe and sustainable operation. In order to obtain the influences of various factors on the displacement of energy pile, a thermo-mechanical coupled numerical model of energy pile

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Displacement-affectedness: a moral economy lens to examine protracted displacement

open access: yes
Surface-level descriptions of humanitarian responses to protracted displacement often obfuscate displaced people’s agency and conceal the role and significance of the ‘host community’.

Strain localization driven by thermal decomposition during seismic shear [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Field and laboratory observations show that shear deformation is often extremely localized at seismic slip rates, with a typical deforming zone width on the order of a few tens of microns. This extreme localization can be understood in terms of thermally

Method for Identifying Type of Eddy-Current Displacement Sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Eddy-current (EC) displacement sensors are used in a device for measuring the shaft vibration of turbines. An EC displacement sensor is composed of a sensor probe and an impedance/output voltage (Z/V) converter. In a power plant in the U. S., the type of

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Effects of heat-transfer time lag and bearing friction on the temperature-induced displacement of a steel truss bridge

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Long-span steel truss bridges are strongly affected by environmental temperature, which governs thermal expansion, bearing movement, and long-term service performance.

Real-Time Compensation for Thermal Errors of the Milling Machine

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
This paper is focused on developing a compensation module for reducing the thermal errors of a computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine. The thermal induced displacement variations of machine tools are a vital problem that causes positioning ...

PERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF DIFFERENT THERMAL FLUIDS IN CONCENTRATING SOLAR PLANTS

open access: yes, 2020
Concentrating Solar Plants (CSP) represent a feasible alternative to fossil fuel driven power plants. Anyway, technical and economic issues severely prevent their large diffusion over the world.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
