Thermal effects under elastic and plastic deformation of polyethylene
Polymer, 2015Abstract Thermal effects occurring under tensile deformation were analyzed for polyethylene samples with different level of crystallinity and dimensions. Temperature changes were measured by IR camera at all stages of deformation (from elastic region until fracture) at various strain rates.

Thermal contact resistance at low contact pressure: Effect of elastic deformation
International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2005Abstract Existing models over-predict the thermal contact resistance of conforming rough joints at low contact pressures. However, the applicable pressure range in some applications such as microelectronics cooling is low. A new model is developed which is more suitable for low pressures.

On elastic deformation, inter-asperity cavitation and lubricant thermal effects on flow factors
Tribology International, 2009Separate or combined effects of elastic deformation and inter-asperity cavitation of rough surfaces and lubricant thermal effect, resulting from different lubrication conditions, on flow factors were investigated based on an extended Reynolds equation and associated equations.

Thermal deformations of inhomogeneous elastic plates
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 1995AbstractWe consider thermal deformations of transversally inhomogenous elastic plates. Thin plate equations are derived as limits of full three‐dimensional models both in the linear as well as in the non‐linear case with appropriate convergence proofs. In the non‐linear case also the corresponding von Kármán equations are formulated.

Thermal Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication of Line Contact Considering the Thermal Elastic Deformation
2020By considering the radial thermal elastic deformation of line contact solid surface caused by lubricant temperature rise, a new numerical method is utilized to calculate the solution of thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication (TEHL) in line contact.

Elastic thermal deformations in EOS units measuring and simulation
2017 Eighteenth International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC), 2017This paper presents the results of the thermal movement measurements of cathode-heating unit (CHU) details for a powerful C-band multi-beam klystron. There are also the numerical simulation results of the CHU, that shows the good agreement between the experimental and the calculated data.

Thermally Twistable, Photobendable, Elastically Deformable, and Self‐Healable Soft Crystals
Angewandte Chemie, 2018AbstractThe first example of a smart crystalline material, the 2:1 cocrystal of probenecid and 4,4′‐azopyridine, which responds reversibly to multiple external stimuli (heat, UV light, and mechanical pressure) by twisting, bending, and elastic deformation without fracture is reported.

Coupling of elastic and thermal deformations I
Applied Scientific Research, 1958The general solution for the stress and temperature distribution in an isotropic thermoelastic solid occupying the half space has been given when the classical heat conduction equation is suitably modified to take into account the effect of variation of strain on the variation of temperature, the boundary of the solid being assumed to be stress-free ...
