Analysis of the Endwinding Cooling Effects in TEFC Induction Motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper deals with the endwinding cooling problems of totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) induction motors. In order to obtain information about the phenomena involved in the motor end space, three "ad hoc" prototypes have been built. The complete test-

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Development of Kapok/Recycled-PET Blended Needle-Punched Thermal Waddings

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
Kapok fiber is emerging as a cheaper natural fiber having excellent thermal insulation properties. Recycled polyester/kapok blended needle punched nonwoven waddings are prepared where the effect of kapok fiber %, sheet areal density, and needle punch ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Analysis of Thermal Resistance Characteristics of Power LED Module

open access: yes, 2014
Multichip LED arrays are widely used for lighting to provide high luminance. Luminous efficacy, lifetime, and color temperature are highly dependent on the temperature at p-n junction. This paper investigated the effects of distance, number of chips, and

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
