Evaluation of Thermal Response Test of Energy Pile [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Geotechnical Society, 2014
Use of geothermal energy has been increased for its economical application and environmentally friendly utilization. Particularly, for energy piles, a spiral coil type ground heat exchanger (GHE) is more preferred than line type GHEs such as U and W shaped GHEs. A PHC energy pile with spiral coil type GHE was installed in an area of partially saturated

Two-Dimensional Finite Element Ablative Thermal Response Analysis of an Arcjet Stagnation Test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The finite element ablation and thermal response (FEAtR, hence forth called FEAR) design and analysis program simulates the one, two, or three-dimensional ablation, internal heat conduction, thermal decomposition, and pyrolysis gas flow of thermal ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Numerical analysis of thermal cycling during a multi-stage energy pile thermal response test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Energy piles are emerging as convenient alternative to the more traditional borehole heat exchangers (BHEs) to provide heating/cooling to buildings, as they remove the need for special purpose excavations and can accommodate more pipes, thus enhancing ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Analysis of Influencing Factors on Soil Thermal Conductivity Test in Ground Source Heat Pump

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2012
A three dimensional numerical model of ground source heat pump system was established. The effects of testing time, starting time, borehole radius, initial ground temperature and heat injection rate on identified thermal conductivity of the deep ground ...

A Novel Approach to the Analysis of Thermal Response Test (TRT) with Interrupted Power Input

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The quality of measuring datasets of the thermal response test (TRT) significantly influences the interpretation of borehole thermal parameters (BTP). A thermal response test with an unstable power input may induce an unacceptable error in the estimation

High reflectivity grating waveguide coatings for 1064nm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose thin single-layer grating waveguide structures to be used as high-reflectivity, but low thermal noise, alternative to conventional coatings for gravitational wave detector test mass mirrors.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
