Sustainable Synaptic Device with Two‐Dimensional Ferroelectric Materials for Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
α‐In2Se3 based FeSFETs can be utilized as sustainable devices through polarization switching governed by both out‐of‐plane and in‐plane polarizations. Upon reaching a fatigued state, current annealing enabled by conductance modulation can significantly enhance the endurance of FeSFETs.

Thermionic emission in gold nanoparticles under femtosecond laser irradiation observed with photoemission electron microscopy

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
This study reports that thermionic emission can dominate over multi-photon ionization in gold nanoparticles under femtosecond laser irradiation. The brightness of individual particles observed with photoemission electron microscopy increased steeply for ...

Structural and Compositional Effects on the Scintillation Properties of Fast Emitting Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The crystalline structure, the atomic numbers of the constituent elementsand the size of MOF crystals each influence their photoluminescence and scintillation properties in distinct ways. Together, these factors provide valuable guidelines for designing systems with optimized performance and tunable timing characteristics, arising from the synergistic ...

Reverse I–V–T analysis of Ti and Ni Schottky diodes on 6H-SiC with three contact areas [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
This work investigates the reverse-bias electrical behavior of Ti and Ni Schottky diodes fabricated on n-type 6H-SiC epitaxial layers, with contact areas of three different sizes: large (1.6 × 1.6 mm2), medium (1.6 × 0.4 mm2), and small (0.4 × 0.4 mm2 ...

Asymmetric Electrostrain/Electrobending in Piezoelectric Ceramics: Role of Defect Dipoles or Oxygen Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Defect‐configurational origins of the asymmetric apparent electrostrain are revealed in different piezoelectric ceramics via atomic‐scale visualization of defect configurations. Migration of oxygen vacancies leads to the electrobending effect in N2‐sintered BaTiO3, while defect dipoles in Ba0.99TiO2.99 generate true asymmetric electrostrain without ...

Photoelectric‐Coupled Ferroelectric Heterojunctions for Ultrahigh NO2 Sensing With Polarization‐Memory‐Assisted Interfacial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a Bi2WO6/SrBi2Ta2O9 heterojunction where light‐driven ferroelectric polarization reversal couples with persistent photoconductivity, enabling exclusive NO2 selective room‐temperature sensing. The device achieves a two‐order‐of‐magnitude sensitivity enhancement over an unpolarized device, a sub‐ppb detection limit, and robust ...

Modeling of MoS2/Si heterostructure to study charge transfer dynamics

open access: yesNano Express
Here, we synthesized a MoS _2 /Si heterojunction device using a scalable approach involving DC sputtering coupled with sulfurization. The observed current–voltage characteristics unequivocally indicate a rectifying behavior at MoS _2 /Si heterointerface.

Electro-Physical Interpretation of the Degradation of the Fill Factor of Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells Due to Incomplete Hole Collection at the a-Si:H/c-Si Thermionic Emission Barrier

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
An electro-physical interpretation for the degradation of the Fill Factor in p+/n silicon heterojunction solar cells (SHJ) due to incomplete hole collection at the thermionic emission barrier at the amorphous/crystalline silicon (a-Si:H/c-Si) hetero ...

Current Transport Mechanism in Palladium Schottky Contact on Si-Based Freestanding GaN

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
In this study, the charge transport mechanism of Pd/Si-based FS-GaN Schottky diodes was investigated. A temperature-dependent current−voltage analysis revealed that the I-V characteristics of the diodes show a good rectifying behavior with a large ...
